WHAT IS SLIP CASTING?
Slip cast ceramic pottery has a following! Liquid clay is poured into a mold, is allowed to sit a spell and is then demolded. The form is tidied, "bisque fired", glazed and refired to reach it's permanent state of hopeful perfection (a potter's dream). Along Route Slipty Six you will find hand buit, wheel thrown and our beloved slipcast pottery.

Route Slipty Six Pottery slid into existence when two like minded artists/potters met and subsequently, one found facebook site selling slip cast molds. Heather Adair, a potter of 30 plus years, and Bridgette Fowler, a novice potter but experienced artist, have made three trips to the slipcast mold wonderland thusfar. We have combed through a mountain of molds, sweat dripping, muscles aching with combined treasure hunting eyes seeking the perfect molds. When we found an original Lowel 342 Ceramic Tree with 2 intact extension rings and base we knew we were in business. With a love for pottery, kindness and art we began.Route Slipty Six Pottery.
